Zaarour

Zaarour's 355-metre vertical drop and modest skiable area mean you're looking at a small mountain. It's the kind where you'll know every run by week two. With a capacity of around 2,000 skiers per day, this isn't a sprawling resort where you can disappear into different terrain zones for months. The mountain does get snow; it sits between 1,645m and 2,000m base-to-top, and the season typically runs through winter. However, you should be realistic: if you're the type who needs constant new lines and varied terrain to stay engaged over four months, you'll likely feel the limitation. If you're drawn to a focused, intimate mountain where you'll genuinely know the place inside out, or if you're planning to use the season primarily for instruction work rather than endless personal skiing, the compact terrain is less of a drawback.

Zaarour sits just 35 kilometres from Beirut, which is a genuine advantage for a season worker. You're not isolated in a mountain village. You'll have regular access to proper shops, restaurants, and everyday services in the capital, and you're roughly an hour from the sea if you want a break. The catch is that reliable information on staff housing, rent costs, and groceries is thin on the ground. You'll need to contact the resort directly to understand whether accommodation is provided, what it costs, and what your actual living expenses will look like. Beirut's airport is the main transport hub, and the commute from there to the resort is straightforward, so getting in and out for your season is logistically simple.

The resort clearly employs seasonal staff. Ski instructors and lift operators are the roles most openly advertised, and the broader visitor infrastructure (restaurants, rentals, guest services) suggests hospitality work exists too, though exact job availability isn't well documented. Zaarour has built a reputation as beginner-friendly, with dedicated slow-speed lifts and Magic Carpets. This means if you're an instructor or working in guest-facing roles, much of your time will be spent supporting newer skiers rather than catering to experts. The seasonaire community appears small and close-knit, rather than a large international party scene. You should expect a quieter, more work-focused environment than you'd find at a major Alpine resort. The biggest unknowns are staff housing availability, typical worker nationalities, and what the actual social life looks like outside work. These are questions you'll need to ask the resort directly before committing.
