One thing to establish before anything else: the resort has been closed by a labour dispute, with no seasonal employment available until a new contract is negotiated, so confirm directly that it has reopened and is hiring before you commit to a season here.

The resort sits 30 minutes from Beaupré and 25 minutes from Baie-Saint-Paul, which means you will not be living in a ski village. You will be commuting to nearby towns for groceries at around CAD 90 a week, pharmacies and everyday errands. Baie-Saint-Paul is a legitimate town with character and somewhere to eat, which helps, but the isolation is real compared with a larger resort community. Quebec City's airport (YQB) is 94 kilometres away, so arrival and departure are manageable but not casual, and you will want reliable transport rather than depending on ride-shares.

In normal seasons Le Massif employs a few hundred seasonal workers across hospitality, lift operations and ski instruction, with staff typically housed on site or nearby, though current costs are not available while the resort is shut. The mountain is known for steep expert terrain rather than beginner-friendly slopes, so if you are planning to learn to ski during your season you will be doing it alongside experienced riders on demanding descents.
