Dizin itself isn't a town—it's a mountain resort with two hotels, cottages, and restaurants, set in isolation. The nearest settlement is Velayat Rud, a small village with minimal everyday amenities; for real shopping, banking, and services, you're dependent on Tehran or Karaj, 70–120km away via the Chalus Road or upper mountain routes. Groceries will cost you around 300,000 Iranian Rial per week (roughly £5–7 at official rates, though actual purchasing power varies), making food genuinely cheap by international standards; staff accommodation on-site exists but pricing isn't publicly listed, though it's likely low. The catch is logistical: you're not living in a town with a social infrastructure, and resupply runs to Tehran become part of your routine rather than an occasional trip.

The international seasonaire community at Dizin is essentially non-existent.
